Two years ago we became the first freelance job search engine by aggregating all the freelance jobs from Guru, eLance, Freelancer, Odesk, etc. into one site. It’s been a long journey since then as we continue to improve upon our free service. It’s a labor of love for us as we don’t charge a cent.
In fact, I came up with the idea back in January 2009 after getting laid off by my employer. The economy was in shambles and layoffs were happening left and right. I knew my best chance of making it would be to come up with a site that helped me manage all the freelance jobs I was pursuing while looking for a full-time job.
Six months later the site was done, but full of bugs. It took another 6 months of testing and tweaking to get everything just right. It’s still not 100% perfect, but that’s exactly what keeps me going. In the beginning, building this site was all about me; helping me find work. Somewhere along the way it became more about helping others who are also out of work. My goal is to help each and every one of you find the work you need and want. Whether that be a work from home job or just some extra work on the side to put on the resume.
Now that our website’s two year anniversary has come and gone, I’m amazed to see that we’ve brought in over 400,000 jobs that anyone can do from home (or your cubicle – as long as the boss isn’t looking). I’m so glad to be here and I’m glad you’re here with me.
I’m always open to suggestions, so please drop me an email at any time.
